Y.E.P. Tutoring Afterschool Program

Welcome to the Youth Enrichment Tutoring Program at the Picayune Carver Culture Center!

Located in the heart of Picayune, Mississippi, our program is dedicated to empowering local youth through academic support, personal growth, and cultural enrichment. Serving students from 1st to 12th grade, the Youth Enrichment Tutoring Program (Y.E.P.) offers free after-school tutoring in reading, math, homework assistance, computer instruction, and more. Our curriculum also includes life skills, health and wellness, civic engagement, history, and art enrichment, ensuring a well-rounded experience for every participant.

At the Picayune Carver Culture Center, we believe in nurturing the potential of every child. Our caring staff and volunteers provide mentorship, workshops, and community projects that foster leadership, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Through partnerships with local organizations and generous community support, we are able to offer these opportunities at no cost to families.

The objective of our program is to enhance the skill level of participants for successfully maintaining and improving their math and reading levels. This academic enrichment program focuses on reading and math, homework support, computer instruction, life skills, health and wellness, civic engagement, history, and art enrichment. During the summer months, participants will learn about civic engagement and volunteerism through community projects. The program includes educational field trips, sports, and other activities. The program serves youth from 1st to 12th grades free of charge.
